2026 Rochester Jazz Festival - Free Shows

Mike Melito is a Rochester-based jazz drummer and bandleader with over 30 years on the upstate New York scene. A straight-ahead purist, he has served as house drummer for the Rochester International Jazz Festival since its founding, backing legends including James Moody, Benny Golson, and Barry Harris. He has released seven albums as a leader and appeared on more than 25 recordings as a sideman, with coverage in Downbeat. He also teaches on faculty at the Eastman Community Music School.
