Trane Of Thought is a Toronto-based jazz quintet co-led by tenor saxophonists Pat LaBarbera and Kirk MacDonald, dedicated to performing the music of John Coltrane from a songbook of over 130 compositions. LaBarbera, a Juno Award winner who toured with Buddy Rich and Elvin Jones, and MacDonald, a Toronto Musicians' Association Lifetime Achievement honoree, bring authoritative yet personal voices to the repertoire rather than imitation.
